Who We Are
Maxime Assous, PhD
PI, Senior Lecturer
I am a neuroscientist specialising in the cellular and circuit mechanisms of the striatum. I completed my PhD in Neuroscience in Marseille, France. I then pursued postdoctoral training and Research Faculty appointments at Rutgers University (Newark, NJ, USA), contributing to the discovery of novel striatal interneuron populations and input-specific modes of excitatory integration. I subsequently joined [Cardiff University as a Senior Lecturer in the School of Biosciences, where I lead a research program focused on linking microcircuit architecture to behaviour and cognitive flexibility.
